One of the toughest lessons in life is accepting that not everyone will like you.
While it’s intellectually easy to acknowledge that you’re not a fit for everyone, those moments when people say “no” can still be emotionally challenging.
For instance, a client shared that out of 17 phone calls, they received only one “yes.” When asked about their conversion rate, they stated it was 5%. Technically, 1 out of 17 is 5.88%, meaning they performed better than expected.
But it felt like a loss.
This is where the real issue lies. When your intellectual understanding transforms into actual experiences, you encounter the full range of emotions that come with the reality that not everyone likes you.
Rejection.
Fear.
The nagging “what if…”
Discomfort.
All the emotions.
Here’s the good part. The only congruent response is to be the most authentic version of yourself. Through this process, you’ll transition from intellectually knowing that not everyone likes you to truly understanding how it feels.
Even better news: you don’t need everyone to like you to achieve success.
Remember, you’re not meant for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. Be yourself, embrace your truest self, and you’ll naturally attract the right people into your life.
Alternatively, you can try to be someone else and deal with the results that come with it.
Choose wisely.
