Email was “Created” in 1971

Our work environment has evolved significantly, unlike our brains, which have remained relatively unchanged for thousands of years.

While our brains continue to operate at a basic, tribal level, the technology and computing power around us have advanced exponentially.

Email, though a vital tool, often falls short in facilitating meaningful human connections, engagement, and motivation, especially when it comes to our top priorities.

Achieving inbox zero might seem like a noble goal, but it’s an imperfect measure of efficiency.

Instead, we should rethink our approach. Pick up the phone, have face-to-face meetings, or use video communication to foster genuine interpersonal connections.

Remember, maintaining an empty inbox won’t necessarily make you more effective.

Food for thought.
